Dr. Sumith de Silva brings expertise in Strategic Marketing, Business Management, Marketing Research, Strategic Planning, and Service Marketing. He counts corporate-level experience for more than 17 years and out of which 7 years in the aviation industry. He currently serves as the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited, which manages and operates five international airports in the country, stationed at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

He graduated with B.Sc. (Mgt.) special degree from the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and he is from the batch 2001/2002, Business Management, Faculty of Management. Sumith De Silva, earned his Ph.D. in Business Management and Marketing, from the Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia in 2020. He is a Practicing Marketer (SLIM), Certified Professional Marketer (Asia) (Asia Marketing Federation), and holds an MBA, specializing in Marketing obtained from Sikkim Manipal University (India). As an emerging scholar, Dr. Sumith has attended many international research conferences and published research papers in international journals and awarded the best paper awards at two times by Academy of Global Business Advancement (USA) at the World Congress held in Kenya 2017 and AACSB Accredited National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand, 2018.

Dr. Sumith de Silva was an invited speaker at the World Passenger Experience Forum, held in June 2023 in Dubai, UAE.

He is a Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and served as an Executive Council Member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) during 2022/2023. Sumith was the Project Chair for SLIM People’s Awards 2023 and contributed as a committee member of SLIM Brand Excellence 2024. Further, he currently serves as a member of the Academic Council of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. He serves as the Vice President (Sri Lanka) of the Academy for Global Business Advancement (AGBA), USA and he is a member of the Asia Pacific Institute of Event Management (APIEM) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Sri Lanka too. Sumith represents several visiting faculties of leading government and private universities for leading MBA, MSc, and bachelor’s degree programs. He has assisted over 15,000 students, employees, business professionals, and entrepreneurs to grow through training and coaching in Sri Lanka.
